ChainThink report: Recently, the Hermes Agent developed by Nous Research, a Silicon Valley lab, has been accused by Chinese team EvoMap of architectural-level plagiarism of their open-source engine, Evolver.
It is reported that the core 10-step evolutionary loop of both systems correspond one-to-one, with key terminologies systematically replaced. Critical architectural components such as the three-layer memory system and reflective loops exhibit high structural homology. EvoMap claims that Hermes introduced related features only 36 days after Evolver's public release, and none of its seven publicly available documents reference Evolver.
After being confronted, Nous Research responded dismissively, merely asserting that their repository was created earlier and demanding the other party delete their account, without directly addressing the plagiarism allegations. Currently, EvoMap has relicensed the Evolver protocol under GPL-3.0 to safeguard their intellectual property rights, sparking widespread attention within the open-source community.
