ChainThink report: On April 18, according to official statements from Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iran has never considered transferring enriched uranium to the United States as an option, and does not support proposals put forward by U.S. officials and media regarding Iran's nuclear issue.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bajae also emphasized that compensating for Iran's losses is the core issue in Iran-U.S. negotiations. Previous rounds of talks have already clarified common ground and red lines among all parties, leaving no ambiguity in current negotiation items.
On the same day, U.S. President Trump stated during a media interview that the United States would jointly extract enriched uranium buried beneath the ruins of Iran’s nuclear facilities and transport it back to the U.S.
Additionally, Iranian officials revealed that Iran and the United States are drafting a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a general framework for a final, permanent peace agreement. Both sides remain optimistic about signing this memorandum during upcoming negotiations in Pakistan in the coming days.
The memorandum also sets a 60-day follow-up negotiation window to advance the process toward a final agreement.
