This is a deeply saddening story. I am a cybersecurity professional who began researching blockchain technology in 2016. Binance was the second exchange I ever joined, registering back in January 2018. I have lived through the history of this industry: from dollar-cost averaging (DCA) into ETH when it was only 600 RMB, to claiming the 400 UNI airdrop from Uniswap. I’ve traded NFTs (and paid a premium for my current PFP), invested in FIL mining rigs, and staked BigBang NFTs on PancakeSwap. I’ve participated in GameFi beta tests for airdrops and chased "shitcoins" and new launches across every chain. Yet, on October 11, 2025, a decade of accumulation was stripped away from me, leaving me with nothing.

[The Facts of the Liquidation]

In 2025, I was working in Abu Dhabi, UAE. My strategy for the year was to be a steady, conservative player, aiming for consistent growth. Betting on the positive outlook for the U.S. ETFs, I opened a long position on SOL at over $240, expecting approval within the next 1–2 weeks.

On the morning of October 11, at nearly 2:00 AM, I woke up with a jolt. I checked the price—it was around $180. I thought I was safe, as I had received absolutely no SMS or email notifications regarding a margin call. But, feeling uneasy, I opened the app anyway—only to find that everything had been wiped out. My account was at zero.

Ten years of heart and soul vanished into thin air. My liquidation price was $145, while the market low at that time was $141.

بعد وقوع الحادثة ورفض مطالبتي بالتعويض، فكرتُ في التوجه إلى سلطة تنظيم الخدمات المالية (FSRA). لكنني اكتشفتُ أن رقابتهم تقتصر على "Binance FZE"، وهو كيان قانوني يختلف عن الكيان الذي يتبعه المستخدمون العالميون (Global). رغم أنني صرفتُ النظر عن تلك الخطوة، إلا أن هذه التجربة فتحت لي باباً جديداً.

في ديسمبر، اكتشفتُ أن مقر تسجيل "Binance Global" قد انتقل إلى سوق أبوظبي العالمي (ADGM). وبما أن هذا المركز يقع ضمن نفس النطاق القضائي لمكان عملي، وبمسافة قريبة جداً، توصلتُ بعد بحث عميق إلى أن اللجوء لـ (ADGM) قد يكون هو الطريق الممكن لاستعادة حقوقي.

[The Turning Point of My Search for Justice]

After the incident, my claim was rejected. I initially considered seeking recourse through the FSRA (Financial Services Regulatory Authority). However, I soon discovered that they only regulate Binance FZE, which is a different legal entity from the one serving Global users. I abandoned that path, but the experience opened a window of possibility for what came next.

In December, I discovered that Binance Global had changed its registered address to ADGM (Abu Dhabi Global Market). Since this falls under the same jurisdiction as my workplace—and is physically very close to me—extensive research led me to believe that ADGM might be a viable path for my case.

[Pressure from a Formidable Power]

At this point, I received an email from the powerful law firm representing Binance. They claimed that my previous chat records with customer service indicated that seeking recourse through the FSRA was "illegal." According to their terms, they insisted that I could only seek arbitration through the HKIAC or the ICC. I informed them that I would not proceed with the FSRA, and the matter seemed to settle for a moment.

During this time, I continued to attempt negotiations, but there was no intention on their part for a collective resolution. Consequently, I posted on X, stating my intention to try the ADGM route.

This post caught their attention once again. They began to exert immense pressure, alleging that seeking justice through "unauthorized" channels constituted a "breach of contract" and threatened to sue me in the HKIAC. Even after I explained that I had withdrawn the procedurally flawed filing, their stance remained adamant: "We do not allow users to sue elsewhere; we will sue you."

Currently, they have already paid 250,000 HKD to the HKIAC and declared that if they win, I must reimburse them for all their legal expenses.

في هذه الأثناء، تلقيتُ رسالة إلكترونية من شركة المحاماة الكبرى التي تمثل "بينانس". وادّعوا فيها أن سجلات الدردشة الخاصة بي مع خدمة العملاء تظهر أن توجهي إلى سلطة تنظيم الخدمات المالية (FSRA) هو أمر "غير قانوني"؛ وبموجب شروطهم، لا يحق لي المطالبة بحقوقي إلا من خلال مركز هونغ كونغ للتحكيم الدولي (HKIAC) أو المحاكم التي تحددها غرفة التجارة الدولية (ICC). أخبرتهم أنني لن أتوجه إلى (FSRA)، وعندها توقفت المسألة لفترة.

خلال تلك الفترة، واصلتُ محاولات التفاوض، لكن لم تكن لدى الطرف الآخر أي نية لتسوية موحدة. لذا، نشرتُ تغريدة على منصة (X) أوضحتُ فيها نيتي في تجربة المسار عبر سوق أبوظبي العالمي (ADGM).

لفتت هذه التغريدة انتباههم مرة أخرى، وبدأوا في ممارسة ضغوط شديدة، مدّعين أن سعي المستخدم للمطالبة بحقوقه عبر جهات غير معترف بها لديهم يعد "خرقاً للعقد"، وهددوا بمقاضاتي في مركز (HKIAC). ورغم توضيحي بأنني سحبتُ الإجراءات التي شابتها أخطاء إجرائية، ظل موقفهم متعنتاً: "لا نسمح للمستخدم بالتقاضي في أي مكان آخر، وسوف نقاضيك".

حالياً، قاموا بالفعل بدفع 250,000 دولار هونغ كونغ لمركز (HKIAC)، وأعلنوا صراحةً: أنه في حال فوزهم، سيتعين عليّ دفع كافة التكاليف التي تكبدوها في المحكمة.

Almost simultaneously, a second legal team representing Binance initiated threats targeting my social media presence. Noting the high engagement and reach of my tweets, they alleged that I had damaged their reputation. They demanded that I delete my posts immediately and issue a formal apology.

[A Final Monologue]

I am merely a participant in the crypto world whose chips were plundered. I do not have the wealth to afford expensive, top-tier legal counsel.

The court date is now set. Facing their massive legal machinery, I still have my daily job to maintain. I don’t even have the time to research how to properly respond to the endless stream of professional legal correspondence they send my way.
