View OriginalChainThink news, on March 20, according to Cointelegraph, SEC Chair Paul Atkins stated in a pre-written speech delivered at the Institute for the Advancement of the Law on Thursday that the SEC will adopt a regulatory approach in the digital asset space distinct from its traditional "enforcement-first" model. Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the CFTC, the SEC will first focus on clarifying how federal securities laws apply to cryptocurrency assets. "While this interpretation brings the long-awaited clarity we need, I also want to assure you this is just the beginning, not the end."
Previously reported, the SEC and CFTC jointly issued new regulatory guidance affirming that most digital assets do not constitute securities, aiming to provide a clearer regulatory framework for the market.
