ChainThink report, March 22: According to Bloomberg, a lawsuit filed by Sam Altman’s sister against OpenAI has been dismissed. U.S. District Judge Zachary Bluestone in Missouri ruled on Friday that the claims were time-barred due to their age, rendering the case "untimely." However, the judge also indicated that Ann Altman may amend and refile her complaint.

Her attorney Ryan Mahoney stated: "The court's ruling pertains solely to procedural matters and does not affect the substantive merits of the allegations." He added that the court has permitted the filing of an amended complaint, and the team will promptly complete it, continuing with discovery as planned. Sam Altman’s legal representatives declined to comment.

In January 2025, Ann Altman alleged that during their upbringing in Missouri from the late 1990s through the early 2000s, Sam Altman subjected her to abuse and manipulation. She claimed the misconduct began when she was three years old and continued until she was still a minor. In response, Sam Altman, along with his mother and brother, issued a statement asserting the allegations were "entirely false."

In March 2025, while denying the accusations, Sam Altman filed a defamation lawsuit against his sister, alleging her "false statements" damaged his reputation and caused emotional distress. His legal team further contended that the lawsuit was brought forth for improper purposes—specifically, to pressure him into providing unlimited financial support. In this ruling, the judge also allowed Sam Altman to proceed with his defamation claim.
