ChainThink report: According to crypto KOL @aaronjmars, a manipulation incident occurred recently in Polymarket's Paris weather market. A man temporarily heated the surrounding air near a Météo France temperature sensor located close to Charles de Gaulle Airport runway—this sensor is largely unshielded—using a portable heating device, artificially inflating the temperature reading to 22°C (significantly above the expected 18°C for that day).
He had previously purchased contracts betting on this low-probability outcome at extremely low prices; the market ultimately settled based on this falsified data. The individual executed these manipulative actions on April 6 and April 15, collectively profiting approximately $34,000. Météo France detected the anomaly and has since initiated criminal proceedings.
