ChainThink report, on July 15, Tibo, core product lead at OpenAI, stated that active users of Codex and ChatGPT Work have reached 8 million.

Two days prior, the figures were 6 million and 7 million respectively. OpenAI has reset usage quotas for all users once again and continues to remove the 5-hour usage cap, allowing users greater access to experience GPT-5.6 Sol.

Sam Altman said the growth of GPT-5.6 Sol is "extremely explosive." OpenAI is scaling up inference capacity, but temporary latency may occur in the near term.
