Tether乌拉圭比特币矿场项目因电力合同纠纷搁浅，投资额或达1.2亿美元

ChainThink 消息，8月24日，据路透社报道，Tether 在乌拉圭的比特币矿场项目因与当地国有电力公司 UTE 的电力供应合同纠纷而停摆，项目投资规模估计约1.2亿美元。

双方对合同约定的供电量存在分歧。Tether 认为相关数额是最低保障供应量，UTE 则将其视为供电上限。由于新协议未能签署且电费出现拖欠，UTE 于 7月25日切断了两处矿场的电力供应。

Tether 随后结束当地业务并裁减大部分员工。该矿场项目曾被 Tether 视为进军南美比特币挖矿市场的第一步。

不过，Tether 仍在继续扩大区域能源与挖矿布局，此前已收购可再生能源企业 Adecoagro 70% 股份，并计划利用其剩余电力开展比特币挖矿。
