ChainThink News, October 10: According to South Korean media reports, ASML has notified Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix that it will uniformly increase the prices of EUV and DUV lithography equipment components in the South Korean market by 10%, with the adjustment expected to take effect in January next year.

After consultation through procurement departments, both parties have accepted the proposal. The price hike covers consumable parts requiring regular replacement as well as core components needed for fault repairs, including optical systems, light sources, and precision drive mechanisms.

Previously, ASML typically adjusted prices only for components affected by rising raw material costs or specific supply constraints. Meanwhile, ASML is currently negotiating new equipment price increases with its major clients.

The report notes that increased investment in AI data centers is driving expansion of memory chip and foundry capacity, leading to higher demand for equipment and components; TSMC had previously opposed ASML's proposed equipment price hikes.
