Troves Vaults Suffered Loss of Approximately 8.6 BTC in Attack, Three Vaults Suspended to Prevent Potential Risks

ChainThink report, November 1, the DeFi yield strategy platform Troves announced that its xWBTC/WBTC vault was attacked, with initial losses amounting to approximately 8.6 BTC.

The incident involved an outdated asset rebalancing contract that had been replaced but still retained operational permissions; Troves has revoked the contract's access rights.

To mitigate potential risks, Troves has suspended the xWBTC/WBTC, xSTRK/STRK, and xstrkBTC/strkBTC vaults. No further losses have been detected in other vaults at this time.

Troves is collaborating with security firms to track the stolen funds and explore recovery mechanisms. A detailed incident analysis and compensation plan for affected depositors will be disclosed in due course.
