ChainThink message, October 18, according to Cointelegraph, during an event held in Washington D.C., the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Paul Atkins, stated that the United States has fallen behind in the cryptocurrency field by about ten years, and addressing this issue is an urgent priority for regulators.


Atkins said he believes the United States has "fallen behind by about ten years" in the cryptocurrency field. He said, "The cryptocurrency sector is our top priority."


Atkins pointed out that the SEC aims to "build a strong framework to bring back those who may have left the United States." The agency hopes this framework will allow innovation to flourish.
