ChainThink reports that former SEC Chair Gary Gensler stated in a Bloomberg interview that all crypto assets other than Bitcoin are high-risk, speculative instruments, emphasizing that most tokens lack fundamental value support.
Gensler noted that Bitcoin, from a regulatory perspective, more closely resembles a commodity, whereas the thousands of other tokens should be approached with caution by investors. He also denied that crypto regulation is a partisan issue, asserting that the integration of crypto assets with traditional financial infrastructure following ETF listings represents an "expected trend toward centralization."
