ChainThink report: In its "Second-Half Financial Stability Report," the Bank of Korea noted that as global "institutionalization of virtual assets" advances, with institutionalization intensifying through instruments such as ETFs, the linkage between the crypto market and traditional financial markets has significantly strengthened, enabling price volatility to be transmitted to traditional assets like equities.

If South Korea proceeds with domestic institutionalization, it must prioritize establishing cross-market contagion monitoring and risk management mechanisms.

The report also stated that currently, the domestic South Korean crypto market remains predominantly retail-driven, with limited institutional participation and constrained financial product offerings, thus the transmission effect remains below overseas levels.
