ChainThink report, December 25: According to CNBC, cryptocurrency exchange Kraken plans to launch a prediction market business by 2026. In the latest episode of CNBC Crypto World, Mark Greenberg, Global Consumer Business Lead at Kraken, revealed the company’s strategic priorities for the coming year.

Greenberg discussed Kraken’s recent decision to acquire Backed Finance, the issuer of xStocks, a product dedicated to tokenizing traditional assets such as equities. This acquisition is viewed as a pivotal step in Kraken’s deeper integration into tokenized equities.

Beyond M&A developments, Greenberg also stated that Kraken is preparing for the launch of its prediction market in 2026 and expressed optimism about the outlook for tokenized equities in the coming year.
